I had planned on painting and sort of redecorating my bedroom ages ago
Then Branden got engaged
and all of my project energy got shifted to the main floor of the house where we would be having the reception
But fall is here
and the kids are back in school
and I'm ready to get back to the idea of redoing my room
I know I want blue walls
but I can't seem to pick the exact color
so anyone with a favorite blue, feel free to share!
The one piece of furniture we needed for the room
was something to put the TV on
it used to be in an armoire but I repurposed that for my dining room awhile back as you may recall
Since then the TV has been sitting on my cedar chest
(which will also be getting a makeover soon)
I found a dresser on Craigslist with nice lines and some minor damage
(but I apparently didn't get a "before" picture)
and I used some ideas from other DIYers online to turn it into a TV cabinet
It's not done but I got the first coat of paint on it today and I'm feeling quite excited about it
here are some pathetic pictures taken with my phone:
I'm not sure you can tell, but its a fun yellow color
All the drawers lined up for painting/drying
this view shows the shelf I built in the top of it to hold the components
Drawers will go underneath and TV on top
I'm not sure what kind of hardware to put on it.
It needs to go with the rest of the room but I want it to be kinda fun too.
I also have a headboard idea or two running around in my head
I love this stuff.
So much fun.

There are some awesome (awesomely overpriced) knobs here, I think my favorite is the clematis. Would look awesome with blue and yellow.

I vote for a warmer blue vs. a cool blue, only because I think a bedroom should be cozy and a cool blue wouldn't be very cozy. :-)
Good job on all your DIY stuff! You have more energy than I.
So what is a warm blue vs. cold exactly?
