There's a fungus amungus

We've had quite a bit of rain here.
It has been wet wet wet.
and so on my way to the mailbox one day
I noticed that we had an inordinate amount of mushrooms and other such fungi growing along the edges of the yard.
tons of them
in all shapes and sizes and colors

So a couple of days later
(after another rainstorm had passed)
I ventured out and took a few pictures

These are all between my front door and my mailbox
cute, red

funky

fringy!

this one looked just like a rock!  It was big too.

this tiny guy had fallen over but he was cute

this one was HUGE and full of pine needles

Growing on the tree trunk so not officially a mushroom I suppose...

Bright yellow twinsies

So gross! Black and scary looking

EW!

Totally funky but really bright yellow/orange

After looking at all the grody fungus I took a couple of shots of some nice looking plants just for fun

And in the process of getting these pictures
I also managed to get
seven mosquito bites!
argh.
I hate those little suckers.
Three on one foot
I killed that one at least.

Wow! I am amazed at the fungal diversity between your front door and the mailbox. Those are pretty cool!

With all those lovely toadstools, you must have fairies in your woods. My girls would be making fairy houses all around your yard with those lovelies. Thanks for great pics.

I think I'm made for living in the desert climate. That is so gross to me! Lovely pictures, but still, gross.

Some of them are super gross! I have a friend with a ton of mushrooms that grow in her front garden that look an awful lot like a certain male part (ahem) and she hates them soo much. hahaha
